Comments/Reviews

From Jennifer LB Leese, The Picket News - ..."The music is terrific! The songwriting is inspirational." - Read the Article

From Jonathan Widran, All Music Guide - ..."As emotionally overwhelming as Davy and her debut are, her varied musical styles may pose a problem for a narrowminded music industry--the same problem Cassidy once had. Hopefully, discriminating listeners won't worry so much about categorization and will discover this amazing yet seasoned new talent." - Read the Full Review

From The Herald-Mail, by Kristin Wilson - "Janine Davy firmly believes that good things really do come to those who wait. The self-proclaimed "original late-bloomer" just released her first CD at the age of 50, and she couldn't be more excited"

From Smother Magazine -"Adult contemporary and AAA artists will flock to Janine Davy for inspiration. She is a Rockville, Maryland native (as originally am I!), and she boasts a powerful voice. Steven Digman who has also worked with the vocally gifted and sadly departed Eva Cassidy puts together this album for Davy whose other talents include the flute, piano, guitar, and recorder. Great songwriting and terrific vocal arrangements are what makes “Looking for You” special".

From Music Dish, Timothy Peters (Associate Writer) ..."Davy clearly understands the value of understatement and nuance, with the result that the CD rewards repeated listens. Fans of singers such as Bonnie Raitt, Tracy Nelson, and Eva Cassidy will feel at home here" - Read the Review

From Radio Personality Ken Jaye at Lite 97.5 / WLTF

"As an on air personality, I have listened to quite a few new artists throughout the years. Janine Davy strikes me as a promising female vocalist with staying power. Give her a listen."

From Eric Sharp (Co-star: STAR TREK VOYAGER, SUDDENLY SUSAN, WINGS, and IN THE HOUSE)" You are an incredible performer and you sing like an angel, from Bonnie Raitt and Joan Jett! ."

Janine Davy

A New Age in Music

Beginning with her first public performance at the age of three, Janine Davy has spent her lifetime progressing to a succession of musical instruments, including the guitar, flute, recorder, piano, and voice. And finally at the tender age of a Half-Century Beautiful, Janine releases her lifetime dream; her debut CD – “Looking For You.”

From ballads and folk standards, to sultry blues, to no-holds-barred rock and roll, Janine shows the vocal gift of maturity within the CD diversity… of style.

Born and raised in Southern Maryland, Janine Davy seemed destined to express herself creatively. She was surrounded by music from the time she was born. Her Peabody-trained father was principle flutist with the United States Air Force Band and performed all over the world. Her mother, who sang like an angel and played piano, taught her children the joy of singing in harmony. While she dabbles in poetry and writing music for lyricists, Janine says her real joy is taking a song and making it her own.

"Looking For You" is distributed by Goldenrod Music and is now available at Barnes & Noble, and Borders Books

LOOKING FOR YOU

Janine Davy - Looking for You - How Much Longer

How Much Longer ...

..."In this well-produced CD, Ms. Davy’s voice is the centerpiece. Her vocals hit their peak on the songs written by Steven Digman, especially the first track “How Much Longer…”, a beautiful, sparingly orchestrated and haunting composition where the question lingers, “When will you tell me you don’t love me anymore?”. For someone going through the last throes of a relationship, it will have a paralyzing, devastating effect. For others, the song will make the listener appreciative of the talent invested in this album." - Jon Stewart, The Muse's Muse
